A customer recently mentioned that her photos weren't the best, and it got me thinking about how often I hear that.
Over the years, my nail photos have become more polished. My application has improved. I've learned more about lighting, angles, editing, and what makes a great manicure photo.
But I didn't start there.
I recently went back through my camera roll and found some of my very first dip manicures from 2018. Looking at them now, I can see every little thing I would do differently today. Uneven cuticle lines, bulky spots, less-than-perfect shaping, and photos taken with whatever lighting I could find.
And honestly? I'm grateful for those pictures.
They remind me that growth doesn't happen overnight.
Sometimes social media can make it feel like everyone else's nails are flawless. Perfect lighting. Perfect application. Perfect photos. But the reality is that most of us started exactly the same way: excited to try something new and hoping for the best.
One of the reasons I fell in love with dip powder is because it gave me a little time for myself. It made me feel confident again. It gave me a creative outlet and a chance to do something just because it made me happy.
That's still what I want for every Vivid Glam customer.
Not perfection.
Not influencer-level photos.
Not a manicure that looks like it belongs in a magazine.
Just the confidence to enjoy the process, have fun, and maybe look back a year from now and realize how far you've come.
So if you've ever hesitated to post your nails because they aren't "good enough," consider this your reminder that progress is far more beautiful than perfection.
We all start somewhere. 🖤
